People who make a statement about the world we live in trying to awake something in us, some sense of protest, of revolt. 

These people see what society is like and use their position as artist to raise awareness about it, and denounce what needs to be denounced. 

 

Who are they to me ?

Of course there are so many artists that are socially and politically engaged that inspire me (such as the Pussy Riots, Ai Weiwei, Marina Abramovich, Pink Floyd,...) but as the number of word is limited, I will have to focus on the ones that are the most relevant to my practice right now, and that will have to be Sophie Calle and Maya Arulpagrasam.
